Appalachian Lifestyle Celebration

Saturday June 10 - 10am-5pm

Mountain heritage comes alive in downtown Waynesville for the Seventh Annual Appalachian Lifestyle Celebration, Saturday, June 10 on Main Street. The event is a celebration of traditional mountain craft, food, and entertainment. Exhibits include vendors demonstrating and selling handmade Appalachian art and crafts such as blacksmithing, leatherworking, quilting, weaving, pottery, wood working/carving, painting, and more. In addition to craft vendors, the event showcases a variety of Appalachian life skills such as storytelling, native plants, beekeeping, and food preservation.

Take a step back in time with us as we protect, preserve & develop our historic & cultural resources. From 10am-5pm you will enjoy traditional food, mountain music & dance, crafts, and demonstrations. Festivities take place rain or shine. A friendly reminder, by Town ordinance, no animals are allowed at downtown events.

Call for Artists

The Downtown Waynesville Association is seeking heritage themed vendors for the seventh annual Appalachian Lifestyle Celebration, Saturday, June 10 on Main Street. Exhibit space will be made available to vendors demonstrating and selling handmade Appalachian art and crafts such as blacksmithing, leatherworking, quilting, weaving, pottery, wood working/carving, painting, etc. In addition to craft vendors, the event is seeking demonstrators for Appalachian life skills such as lumberjacking, butter churning, soap making, storytelling, native plants, beekeeping, and food preservation. Vendors interested in exhibiting personal collections of antique items such as tools, household items, quilts, tractors, wagons, pre 1940’s cars, etc. are also being sought for participation.
Applications accepted until April 28.
