Cardio Trail Guide
The Downtown Waynesville Cardio Trail Guide will assist you in selecting a route for a healthy cardio work out while visiting Downtown Waynesville. There are three routes depending upon the time available and your level of fitness. Pick up a Guide in the two informational Kiosks on Main Street or download the pdf version.
Volksporting "Just Walk for the Health of It"

Mountain Heritage Trout Waters
Established in the 2007 General Assembly as a means to encourage trout fishing as a heritage tourism activity. Waynesville provides public access to trout waters - Richland Creek, which runs through the town and is currently in the NC Wildlife Resource Commission's Trout Management Program. Educational and fun for the whole family. Call the Waynesville Rec Center - 456.2030.
The Waynesville Recreation Center
The Recreation Center, located at 550 Vance Street, has indoor activities such as an indoor track, indoor pool, gymnasium, weight and exercise rooms and more. Outdoor activities include soccer and softball fields, trout stream, tennis and basketball courts, a playground and a greenway multi-use trail), and a covered picnic area. Waynesville Greenway
The Greenway is about 5 miles in length beginning near Lake Junaluska and ending at the Waynesville Recreation Center. The trail is ADA compliant, made of rock dust, gravel, and asphalt. Enjoy the mountain views, plants, and trees native to this area. recprograms@townofwaynesville.org
